PSSSSST: If you you’ve been meaning to take a riso workshop, there are a few dates left in June! After that, the studio is taking a summer hiatus before landing somewhere new in September 2024.
An introductory workshop suitable for anyone, and especially for the risograph-curious! No experience necessary: this workshop is all about the fun and experimentation of riso printing.
You will collage, draw, and stencil your way to ten 2-colour risograph prints of your very own!
All materials are provided, see below for details.
Riso 101 workshops are 3 hours long.

Risograph 101: Drawing + Collage Workshop

Check out the riso and try a new printing medium ! Make a two-colour zine, a print, a poster, a letterwriting set or anything else: the blank page is totally up to you.
Risograph machine tour!
We'll look at riso art examples!
Learn about riso inks and how they overlap and interact.
We will spend around one hour making drawings/collages together in the workshop.
Markers, pens, pencils, tape and scissors provided. Be sure to bring anything special you’d like to draw on paper with - darker colours work best.
You can bring your own source material (yarn! photos! objects!) to work with. Darker colours work best, lighter colours will not show up in the scanning process. Flatter objects work best as we scan them into the riso.
We will scan your work in and print it in two colours on the risograph, we will collectively pick the colours at the workshop.

We are happy to reschedule your workshop booking to another upcoming workshop date with 48 hours notice. If you’re unable to make it, we can also offer you a printing credit instead! Please email in and we’ll go from there - we will accomodate you somehow! Unfortunately, there’s no refunds.
Risograph for Designers and Illustrators:
Advanced techniques for Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate
Instructor: Vikki Wiercinski
Get the most out of your risograph printing (and get ten 2-colour prints!) with this advanced artwork file prep and CMYK colour separations workshop. You’ll learn about:
preparing artwork for print: CMYK spot channel colour separation techniques
colour layering preview techniques
ink opacity considerations and ink coverage previews
vector vs. raster results in riso printing
separating vector artwork in Illustrator
with a focus on Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate programs
and a risograph machine tour, of course!
You get goodies, too:
• PDF handouts on key processes
• a 7-colour overlay guide
• a 7-colour opacity swatchbook
• a 2-colour riso print credit!
After the workshop is done, you will be able to prep a 2-colour risograph print at your convenience and we’ll print ten of them for you for pickup at a later date!
REQUIREMENTS:
• in-person participants will need to bring their own laptop with at minimum Adobe Photoshop installed. Photoshop and Illustrator will be taught on the desktop version. Procreate will be taught on iPad.
